The S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) index is up by 30% over the past year, and one-fifth of that gain is attributable to a single stock: Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA). The chip giant has delivered a return of 186% over the last 12 months, and with a valuation of $3.6 trillion, it represents 7% of the total value of the S&P 500.But Nvidia isn't alone. It's part of a collection of technology giants dubbed the "Magnificent Seven" which have generated an average return of 56% over the past year.
