HealthWell Foundation Publishes Preliminary 2024 Operating Results
Year in Review Celebrates 1 Million Patients Assisted
GERMANTOWN, Md., April 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The HealthWell Foundation®, a nationally recognized independent non-profit organization that offers a financial lifeline to underinsured Americans who struggle to afford critical medical treatments, has published its 2024 Year in Review. The preliminary results of its 2024 operations celebrate the Foundation's milestone of assisting 1 million patients since awarding its first grant in 2004.

Since its inception, HealthWell has provided more than $4.8 billion* in financial support to over 1,110,000* underinsured patients through more than 1.8 million* grants. Highlights from 2024 operations include:
- Receiving record individual and corporate contributions of $885+ million*.
- Awarding over $1.23 billion* in medication copayment and insurance premium assistance through more than 311,000* grants to over 291,700* underinsured patients.
- Ranking #24 on the Forbes' list of America's Top 100 Charities.
- Launching or re-opening 20 funds, including new funds to assist patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH), General Travel costs, and a Vitamins and Supplements Fund to help patients living with Inborn Metabolic or Genetic Bile Acid Deficiency.
- Introducing new tools including a mobile app for patients and a chatbot that gives patients, providers, and pharmacies an immediate way to engage with HealthWell.
- Welcoming 49 new employees across our Corporate and Contact Center teams.
- Assisting over 40,500 callers each month.
