After 'After Hours': What's Next for Cat ® Trial 14
FORT ATKINSON, Wis., Feb. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- IRONMARKETS covers Caterpillar Inc.'s memorable 100th anniversary year as they host the epic nighttime spectacle, "Cat Trial 14: After Hours". Once again, the iconic American company has helped customers across industries — from construction and mining to energy and transportation to marine and more — see their products and solutions in a way they never have before.
Cat Trial 14: After Hours, released Jan. 21, put the spotlight—both literal and figurative—on past, present and future Cat equipment. Now that viewers have seen what has been and what can be, what should they do next?
The equipment introduced by Cat Trial 14: After Hours reminds viewers that a world of possibilities has been a reality at Caterpillar Inc. throughout the past 100 years. The "stars" of this centennial celebration include:
- Caterpillar Twenty, Machine #0000. The very first Caterpillar machine after the Holt and Best founding families combined to form Caterpillar Inc. is on set. And the machine still runs! Want to learn more? Follow caterpillar.com/100 and on social media #caterpillar100.
- The P5000 Power Loader built by Hacksmith Entertainment. It's part of a Hollywood film, but this mechanized exoskeleton is a functional demolition tool that is unlike anything you'd see on a real jobsite and will have enthusiasts scheduling viewing parties.
- The Cat Limited Edition D3 Dozer. In a throwback grey paint scheme that Caterpillar Inc. used in 1925, the limited run machines have collectors lining up to get these from Cat dealers. To find a dealer use the Find A Dealer feature on Cat.com.
- The Next Generation Cat TH1255 Telehandler. As Cat customers have come to expect, this machine puts them first and prioritizes their success. The newly relaunched Telehandler makes its debut with several key standard features — from rearview cameras to operator presence seat switch and Product Link™ Elite telematics. Based on the imaginative vision of a grand museum with the equipment coming alive after hours, Cat Trial 14 also incorporates digital solutions on-screen. It's an homage to Cat Digital's many innovative technological advancements.
"Going back 50 years, Caterpillar realized if operators could control their machines via remote control, they could operate from a safe position. It's something we still offer today, but we've not only advanced the remote-control capabilities, but we also have semi-autonomous and fully autonomous equipment systems. We're about helping customers think big and reach new heights, and Cat Trial 14: After Hours shows that," said Yvette Morrison, Vice President of Caterpillar Marketing & Brand.
This year marks one decade of full production of Cat's autonomous fleet, which has hauled more than nine billion tons of earth around the world, with safety at the heart of that initiative. Including technology, Cat's suite of solutions is also highlighted in Cat Trial 14: After Hours, including:
- VisionLink. Dating back to the telematics connectivity started in the 1990s, customers are getting the benefit from over 1.5 million connected assets today working closely with Cat dealers. Customers can learn more about VisionLink online.
- Cat Grade Control. A prototype of the very first 1968 era remote, machine control technology is seen in the video. That original technology has since developed into a must-have, which customers can learn about from their Cat dealer.
In the next 100 years, you can expect Caterpillar to do what we do best – evolve and expand products to meet the changing needs of our customers worldwide. We are always working to make our customers' vision a reality," said Jenny Young, Global Brand Director for Caterpillar Inc.
