Nursing Economic$ Foundation Awards $20,000 in Scholarships to Four Graduate Nurses

PITMAN, N.J., March 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nursing Economic$ Foundation is pleased to announce the 2024 Scholarship Award recipients: Katie Alwes, MSN, FNP-C; Chelsea Heneghan, MSN, CPNP-PC/AC; Jasmine Wong Juwvipart, BSN, RN, and Tiffany C. Mitchell, MSN, MHA, RN, NEA-BC.

Since its establishment, the Nursing Economic$ Foundation has supported advanced education and research of nursing leaders, managers, and executives pursuing graduate degrees. With the 2024 scholarships, the Foundation has awarded $470,000 to future nurse executives toward their tuition.

Katie Alwes, a Family Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina, is pursuing her DNP at Liberty University.

"[This scholarship] will allow me to achieve my career goals and positively impact my patients, the nursing profession, the health care system, and my community," Alwes shared.

Alwes plans to continue her clinical practice in a multicultural setting, lead improvement initiatives, and inspire health care professionals through education and mentorship.

Chelsea Heneghan, a Nurse Practitioner at Boston Children's Hospital, is pursuing a dual DNP/MBA at Johns Hopkins University.

"This scholarship represents…significant financial support…[and] recognition of my dedication and hard work in nursing and health care," Heneghan said.

Heneghan plans to improve clinical operations and pediatric palliative care and advance quality and process improvements while addressing the needs of staff and families.

Jasmine Wong Juwvipart, a Registered Nurse at Stanford Health Care, is pursuing her DNP at Samuel Merritt University.

"Receiving this scholarship left me speechless, overwhelmed with gratitude, and a deep sense of responsibility to make the most of this opportunity," Juwvipart said.

Juwvipart plans to advance nursing through leadership, research, and quality improvement initiatives while inspiring students through advocacy and community involvement.

Tiffany C. Mitchell, a Nurse Manager, is pursuing her DNP at the University of Texas.

"It was an unexpected blessing," Mitchell said. "Moving forward with positive momentum in my education is key to my five-year goal of becoming a nurse executive. It will grant me the skills I require to successfully lead teams and drive patient outcomes."

Mitchell is committed to mentoring future nurse leaders and aims to balance roles in health care leadership and academia as an adjunct faculty member, fostering excellence in nursing practice.
