São Paulo Governor takes top honors at LatinFinance Awards Gala
NEW YORK, Jan. 31, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- São Paulo Governor Tarcisio de Freitas was among top honorees last night at a gala announcing LatinFinance's 2024 Deals of the Year Awards, where he represented the government of Brazil's largest state in accepting an award for the ground-breaking privatization of São Paulo sanitation company Sabesp, a signature accomplishment of his administration.
De Freitas accepted the award for the $2.7 billion transaction in a ceremony featuring over 300 CEOs, CFOs, government officials from across the region, alongside financiers, investors and advisors involved in landmark transactions across Latin American and the Caribbean over the prior year, who convened in New York for the annual Awards Dinner.
The announcement of this year's winners followed LatinFinance's 2025 LatAm Capital Market Summit, a series of high-level, editorially-led discussions among CEOs, CFOs and investors at the New York Stock Exchange. The discussions focused on the big themes impacting capital raising and investment in the region over the coming year.
A select group of NYSE-listed Deals of the Year winners also joined LatinFinance in ringing the Opening Bell at the NYSE to celebrate their awards, kick off the day's trading and start the LatAm Capital Markets Summit.
Winners are determined independently by LatinFinance's editors following an extensive judging process that involved the evaluation of a record number of submissions this year.
The full list of winners can be found in here https://latinfinance.com/doty-2024-winners/ and in the Q2.2025 edition of LatinFinance magazine.
