Disrupting an industry long dominated by outdated systems, Protector sets out to modernize personal and community protection with the ability to book elite security professionals at the tap of a screen

NEW YORK, Feb. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Protector, an innovative startup creating apps to serve the private security market, today announced the launch of its mobile application, Protector, designed to bring the highest level of private protection to citizens' fingertips. Now available in New York and Los Angeles, Protector enables the booking of elite security professionals— as easily as booking a car on a rideshare app.

For decades, hiring private security has been hindered by outdated models, lengthy sales processes and delayed response times, making it difficult for individuals and communities to secure protection when needed. Protector streamlines security services through a mobile platform so users can easily browse, book, and manage their protection.

"Private security should be fast and easy, not clunky or stressful," said Nick Sarath, founder and CEO of Protector. "Protector redefines what it means to feel safe in the world today."

Each Protector—the term for the apps' elite security professionals—is an active or veteran law enforcement, military, or special forces expert, bringing frontline expertise directly to users. These professionals include Air Force Pararescuemen, Marine Snipers, Navy SEALs, NYPD and LAPD officers, SWAT team members, and other elite operatives.

Another product of Protector is Patrol, coming soon to Los Angeles. It will provide a straightforward, efficient way for neighborhoods to organize and fund community security efforts. Through the platform, residents can deploy ongoing patrols and track activity in real time, enhancing coordination and visibility.

"The demand for elite, experienced, security has never been higher, but the industry has been slow to modernize," said Nikita Bier, founder of tbh (acquired by Meta) and Gas (acquired by Discord). "Protector is closing this gap by introducing a smarter, more responsive approach to private security in the same consumerized form factor that brought us ridesharing."

Protector's mission is to modernize private security solutions, combining mobile tech and world-class professionals to empower proactive and transparent protection. Backed by industry leaders and investors—including Nikita Bier, Balaji Srinivasan, Rocco Basilico, and Charles Songhurst—Protector is redefining private security with user-focused platforms that prioritize speed, reliability, and response.

Protector is now available on iOS. Patrol is coming soon. Visit www.protector.so to learn more.
