Gale Digital Resources Now Available to Millions of Residents Across Utah Using Their Local Public Library Cards

SALT LAKE CITY and FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Feb. 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Utah State Library has partnered with Gale, part of Cengage Group, to provide Utah's more than 3 million residents with free access to Gale digital resources. The resources are available online to all Utah residents with a local public library card through Utah's Online Public Library (UOPL). With expanded access to reliable, high-quality content, Utah public libraries can better support the educational, lifelong learning, homeschooling, professional and informational needs of its communities.

This partnership ensures that all Utah residents, regardless of their location, have access to educational tools.

  • Gale ChiltonLibrary: Automotive repair and maintenance instruction for the most popular vehicle makes and models.

  • Gale Literature: Books and Authors: A readers' advisory database for discovery of books by author, genre and topic based on expert reviews and recommendations.

  • Gale In Context student databases: 7 multidisciplinary, multi-source type databases covering elementary, middle, high school, environmental studies, biographical info, science and a wide range of viewpoints on today's social issues.

  • Gale OneFile collections: Over 16,000 full-text periodicals and popular magazines, plus, peer-reviewed journals to support research and student inquiry.

With a library card, Utah residents can access Gale's digital resources 24/7 from anywhere and on any device.  Additionally, many of the resources feature integrated workflow tools from Google and Microsoft, as well as language translation, downloadable audio and easy ways to share and save content.
