Palmer Luckey, and 3rd Deputy Commanding General LTG Edmond “Miles” Brown to headline eMerge Americas 2025 eGOV Summit

eMerge Americas, in collaboration with presenting partners Army Futures Command and Florida International University, will once again convene public and private sector leaders to discuss and showcase innovative technologies and public-private partnerships transforming communities. This groundbreaking summit focuses on the intersection of defense, dual-use technologies, and public-private collaborations, emphasizing Florida's pivotal role as a global hub for dual-use and defense innovation.

Palmer Luckey, the founder of Anduril Industries and Oculus VR, and Lieutenant General Edmond "Miles" Brown, the 3rd Deputy Commanding General for the Army Futures Command, headline the list of speakers at the 2025 eMerge Americas eGOV Summit. Luckey's keynote will share his journey from developing VR technology in his garage, to founding Oculus VR and transforming the tech industry. He will also discuss his bold transition into the defense sector with Anduril Industries, where he is advancing dual-use technologies that merge entrepreneurship with national security innovation. Lieutenant General Brown will share how Army Futures Command is accelerating problem solving at scale with the private sector.

The 2025 summit program will feature thought-leader panels and discussions focused on critical areas like space technology, military innovation, veteran leadership, Florida's defense ecosystem, human capital, defense and dual-use focused venture capital, and how to foster synergies between public and private sectors — showcasing a collaborative environment where innovation can thrive.

"Our 2025 eGOV Summit comes at a time when defense tech has seen momentous growth in Florida with Military and Defense accounting for over 865,000 direct and indirect jobs, and commanding an annual economic impact of $102.6 billion, according to the latest economic impact analysis from the Florida Commerce Office of Military and Defense and the Florida Defense Support Commission," said Melissa Medina, co-founder and CEO of eMerge Americas. "We at eMerge Americas are thrilled this groundbreaking summit will unite experts and leaders from various sectors, including government, academia, defense, venture capital, and technology, to come together in a critical moment in our society to discuss the emerging technologies in defense operations and training."
