BRYN MAWR, Pa., March 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Main Line Health Board of Governors have appointed Edward Jimenez, MBA, as the System's new President and CEO, effective June 6, 2025. Ed is a veteran healthcare executive with nearly 30 years of progressive leadership experience and a track record for improving clinical quality, fostering organizational growth and strengthening employee engagement. Ed comes from University Hospital, a 500-bed academic medical center in Newark, New Jersey, where he has served as President and CEO.
Ed has an exceptional track record of leadership, innovation and a deep commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement. While we met with many impressive candidates during our extensive nationwide search, Ed consistently stood apart from the rest because of his significant experience as a CEO and his demonstrated commitment to quality, growth and operational excellence, making him the ideal leader to guide Main Line Health into the future.
Under his leadership, University Hospital embarked on a $1.8 billion campus renovation and expansion project, achieved #1 survival in the United States for liver transplantation and enhanced employee engagement with the hospital landing on Forbes' America's Best Employers list. Ed was instrumental in spearheading an ambulatory strategy focused on network and service line expansion.
"I am incredibly excited and deeply honored to have the opportunity to lead Main Line Health. I look forward to working with the dedicated colleagues and medical staff who are integral to providing exceptional care to our community," Ed said. "I look forward to building on the System's legacy of excellence by continuing to advance growth strategies that ensure Main Line Health remains a healthcare leader for generations to come."
Prior to University Hospital, Ed served as CEO of UF Health for nearly a decade, as well as held the role of COO. Over his career, Ed has held progressive senior leadership roles at St. Joseph's Healthcare System, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and University Hospital (under its previous name as the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey).
A summary of Ed's accomplishments over his impressive career includes:
- Significantly improved patient mortality rates, employee engagement, admissions, outpatient visits and operating revenue
- Grew UF Health from a $1 billion and 8,000-employee organization to a $2.7 billion organization with 14,000 employees
- Developed an ambulatory strategy that led to significant growth. The strategy focused on opening freestanding emergency departments and imaging, therapy, surgery and urgent care centers
- Created and led a strategy with community physicians that resulted in seven physician-hospital joint ventures

Ed will work closely with Jack Lynch, FACHE — who will retire on June 30 after two decades as Main Line Health's President and CEO — over the coming month to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.
"I am excited to welcome Ed to Main Line Health. His leadership, vision and unwavering commitment to healthcare excellence make him the ideal person to guide the System into the future," said Steve Higgins, Chair of the Main Line Health Board of Governors. "I am confident that Ed will build upon the strong foundation Jack has developed and the work he's done over the past 20 years to solidify Main Line Health as a leader committed to delivering safe, high-quality, equitable and affordable care to our patients and the communities we serve."
