BETHLEHEM, Pa., Feb. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- B. Braun Medical Inc. (B. Braun), the U.S. market leader in regional anesthesia (RA), announced today the launch of the Emergency Department Single-Shot Nerve Block Tray to the U.S. market.1 The tray is specifically designed for emergency departments and supports clinicians in providing safe, effective pain management while reducing opioid use and its complications in acute care settings.2 Featuring advanced echogenic technology for improved ultrasound visibility, it is the first ever peripheral nerve block (PNB) tray to include our Ultraplex® 360 Needle, which is preferred by 91% of clinicians over competing options.3

The tray is equipped with essential components for single-shot nerve block procedures, enabling emergency department clinicians to perform precise nerve blocks quickly and effectively. The Ultraplex 360 Needle features B. Braun's echogenic 360° X-pattern which, when combined with a clear coating, is intended to reflect more ultrasound waves back to the probe than previous designs.4 This needle is designed to provide visibility without compromising consistent puncture performance.1

In the emergency department, regional anesthesia offers a safe and effective alternative to opioid therapies, improves patient satisfaction and reduces pain scores.2 It also helps reduce the transition of acute to chronic pain, reduces length of stay and lowers in-hospital cost.5

"Our goal is to improve outcomes in the emergency department with regional anesthesia: a safe and effective alternative to opioid therapies that improve patient satisfaction," said Peter McGregor, Director of Marketing, Pain Control. "This tray exemplifies our commitment to continuously developing innovative solutions for clinicians and patients."
