Armenian-American community gathers to celebrate Anora's triumph at the 97th Academy Awards

Oscars-viewing dinner honors the movie "Anora" with six nominations and five wins, including Best Picture.

LOS ANGELES, March 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Temple Entertainment, an entertainment and investment company committed to supporting diverse projects from movies to major events, hosted a celebratory Oscars-viewing dinner on March 2, 2025, at No.10 Restaurant in Los Angeles, uniting the Armenian community to honor the remarkable achievements of the film Anora at the 97th Academy Awards. The film, which features Armenian actors Vache Tovmasyan and Karren Karagulian, garnered six nominations and triumphed with five wins—including the coveted Best Actress award for Mikey Madison, and four record-breaking wins for Sean Baker for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing.

Vache Tovmasyan an Armenian actor, comedian, and showman known for his work on various comedy projects. In the 2024 film Anora, he portrayed Garnik, earning a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. Karren Karagulian  is an Armenian-American actor celebrated for his long collaboration with director Sean Baker; his performance in Anora garnered him an Independent Spirit Award nomination, while his producer work on films like Tangerine has helped showcase Armenian talent in cinema globally.
