American Red Cross honors donors amid growing need for support
WASHINGTON, March 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- This March, the American Red Cross is celebrating its annual Red Cross Month by honoring the generous donors who make its mission possible. Central to the organization's ability to alleviate suffering in the face of emergencies is the unwavering support from corporate partners that contribute to all facets of the Red Cross mission. These companies, alongside countless other donors, provide essential resources that help ensure readiness in the face of crisis.
Now more than ever, families and communities are experiencing the need for humanitarian aid. As disasters like wildfires, floods and hurricanes become more frequent and intense, swift Red Cross response efforts are essential. And with severe weather increasingly impacting blood drives, the need for blood remains constant. These challenges only highlight the importance of consistent support from donors who trust the Red Cross to apply their gift where the need is greatest.
Donors who support the greatest needs of the Red Cross, and their employees and customers, play an essential role by making annual financial pledges that allow the Red Cross to be prepared to respond to both everyday emergencies and large-scale disasters. Their generosity ensures that the organization can quickly provide critical assistance to people in need.
Each day, the Red Cross helps more than 25,000 people — from supporting families affected by home fires and collecting life-saving blood to distributing comfort kits to veterans and so much more. With the ongoing and unpredictable nature of disasters and emergencies, donors that support the greatest needs are vital to the organization's ability to offer help and hope.
"We are incredibly grateful for donors that that provide us with the flexibility to support all areas of our mission," said Anne McKeough, chief development officer at the American Red Cross. "Their willingness to contribute resources where the need is greatest — whether for disaster relief, lifesaving blood, support for the military community or other critical programs — ensures we can be there when help can't wait."
This Red Cross Month, the organization thanks its valued corporate partners who donate at least $250,000 annually to support its mission. Their generous contributions, including those from Circle K, are instrumental in helping the Red Cross continue to carry out its lifesaving work.
As part of Red Cross Month, the organization is asking people to give blood or donate to disaster relief to provide services like emergency shelter, food, supplies, basic health care, emotional support and financial assistance.
