Workcred Welcomes Dr. Terry Vaughan III as Associate Executive Director, Research
NEW YORK, March 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Workcred, an affiliate of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), is pleased to announce that Terry Vaughan III, Ph.D. will assume the role of associate executive director, research. In this position, Dr. Vaughan will advance Workcred's mission to strengthen workforce quality by developing research, resources, and networks to enhance the U.S. credentialing system. An influential expert in higher education policy research, he has dedicated much of his career to serving as an advocate for equitable career pathways and career development for underrepresented students.
Previously, Dr. Vaughan was the vice president of research and director of the Pell Institute at the Council for Opportunity in Education, managing national research projects and partnerships focused on improving education pathways for first-generation and low-income college students. He also served as the associate director of DePaul University's Center for Access and Attainment, where he oversaw an early undergraduate research program that prepared students for graduate, law, and medical school admissions.
Dr. Vaughan earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in education policy, organization, and leadership from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds a B.A. in philosophy from DePaul University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Vaughan has been noted as a mission-driven visionary, collaborative leader, and fundraiser, helping to secure critical funding for programs, projects, and partnerships from prominent organizations.
