UNITED AIRLINES TEAMSTERS TO RALLY AT SAN FRANCISCO HUB
Aviation Technicians Demand Strong Contract as Carrier Jeopardizes American Jobs
SAN FRANCISCO, March 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, March 13, United Airlines Teamsters from Locals 856 and 986 will rally and hold an informational picket at the United Airlines Tech Ops Base at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). United Airlines Teamsters aviation technicians nationwide are fighting for an industry-leading contract that provides them with good wages and job security. Meanwhile, United Airlines is stalling negotiations and jeopardizing American jobs and safety by outsourcing critical maintenance work to China and South America.
United Airlines is the second largest airline in the world, raking in $4 billion in profits last year. Despite these massive gains, the carrier has presented an unreasonable, insulting, and unacceptable economic proposal. The Teamsters, who represent nearly 10,000 skilled technicians at the carrier, are demanding wages that reflect the company's profit margins, improved health care benefits, and the return of outsourced maintenance work to the United States.
