Michael Baker International Names Aaron Gies, C.S.P., CRIS, Vice President, Health and Safety
Mr. Gies to enhance the firm's safety culture and strengthen its programs and policies
PITTSBURGH, March 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, today announced that the firm has named Aaron Gies, C.S.P., CRIS, Vice President, Health and Safety. In this role, Mr. Gies will enhance the firm's safety culture and strengthen its programs and policies in alignment with the company's continued growth. He will enhance the firm's engagement with Operations leaders across practices and geographies, as well as onsite field personnel and those who operate fleet vehicles, and lead Michael Baker's Corporate Safety Council, a select group of leaders within Michael Baker who work closely with the Health and Safety Department to ensure that the firm is implementing effective health and safety strategies.

Mr. Gies joins Michael Baker from MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure, where he served as Regional Safety Director for Infrastructure Southeast & General Building. He oversaw safety for projects such as data centers, mining, bridges and highways. Earlier in his tenure with MasTec, he also focused on power delivery projects. Throughout his career, which also includes senior management roles with the William Charles Construction Company, Aldridge Electric and CB&I, Mr. Gies has led safety initiatives in the engineering and construction industry that spanned the U.S. and included all aspects of managing and implementing safety requirements for in-house teams and subcontractor partners.
Mr. Gies earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Safety and Environmental Health from Slippery Rock University. He is a Certified Safety Professional (C.S.P.) and a Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS).
