Lisa Chipps, MD, MS Named President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery
LOS ANGELES, March 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Golden State Dermatology along with Moy-Fincher-Chipps Facial Plastics & Dermatology is pleased to announce that Lisa Chipps, MD, MS, distinguished board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon, has been elected as President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS). With extensive expertise in cosmetic surgery, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, laser skin treatments, liposuction, and general and cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Chipps brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the role.

About Lisa Chipps, MD, MS
Dr. Chipps has an outstanding background in both clinical practice and research. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Physiological Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) before obtaining her medical degree at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and pursued an advanced two-year fellowship in procedural dermatology, Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and cosmetic surgery at Moy-Fincher Dermatology. As a cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist, Dr. Chipps combines surgical and non-surgical techniques to help patients have healthy and beautiful skin.
Beyond her clinical expertise, Dr. Chipps actively gives back through her involvement with education and community service. She served as the Director of Dermatologic Surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for a decade, and continues to teach and mentor dermatology residents. She volunteers with the Skin Cancer Foundation, American Academy of Dermatology, and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery in their skin cancer screening programs, and with American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery for removal of cancer radiation tattoos and branding tattoos for victims of human trafficking.
As President of AACS, Dr. Chipps aims to further the Academy's legacy of innovation and education, ensuring that cosmetic surgeons have access to cutting-edge training and resources for safe and excellent results. She is spearheading regional events within the organization. She will also continue advocating for policies that enhance patient protection and promote responsible cosmetic procedures.
