Ignite at Saban Center Seeks Executive Director
TUSCALOOSA, Ala., March 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Ignite, a brand new, state-of-the-art science center that will be part of the Saban Center campus, is excited to announce a national search for an executive director. The ideal candidate for this role is dynamic, innovative, forward-thinking and passionate about revolutionizing STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and the arts experiences for learners of all ages.
Ignite, formerly known as the Children's Hands on Museum (CHOM), will inspire the next generation of leaders, thinkers and creators through innovative, STEM and the arts focused programming. Under direction of the Ignite Board of Directors, the executive director will be responsible for leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for all aspects of the museum.

Ignite seeks an influential leader with an educational background in museum studies, STEM education or a related field, along with extensive experience in museum management. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to develop and implement long-term strategic plans, excellent communication skills, and a track record of fostering successful community partnerships. Above all, the Executive Director must be passionate about creating dynamic, hands-on experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong passion for learning.

Ignite is a brand new, state-of-the-art science center under development, formerly known as the Children's Hands-On Museum (CHOM), and will be far more than a children's museum. The museum will have new, high-quality permanent exhibit space, which will include a substantial level of popular multimedia opportunities, including numerous computer interactives.
