EQS-News: Hawesko Group confirms sales and earnings expec-tations for 2024

Hamburg, 4 February 2025. Based on preliminary figures, the premium wine trading group Hawesko Holding SE (HAW, HAWG.DE, DE0006042708) achieved consolidated sales of € 637 million and an operating result (EBIT) of € 32 million in the 2024 financial year, subject to the audit of the financial statements, and is within the forecast issued by the Board of Management. The operating result before depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) amounts to € 57 million and thus reaches the previous year's level.

In the challenging year 2024, characterised by low consumer spending by private households, the Hawesko Group recorded positive momentum over the course of the year. After a comparatively weak start to 2024, all segments of the Group succeeded in gradually bringing sales up to the previous year's level. In the fourth quarter, a year-on-year increase in sales was achieved in the Christmas business.

This momentum was a common thread running through all three segments, with the Retail segment showing the most stable development and remaining only slightly below the previous year's level overall (-1 percent). The E-Commerce segment also improved over the course of the year and was only 2 percent down on the previous year in 2024. The B2B segment showed weaker development at -4 percent compared to the previous year, but achieved the strongest growth in the fourth quarter.

‘After a cautious start to 2024, we were able to make up significant ground from the summer onwards and break the trend of declining sales,’ comments Thorsten Hermelink, CEO of the Hawesko Group. ‘At the same time, we have worked intensively on our costs and structures so that we will benefit from this in terms of earnings both in 2024 and in subsequent years. We will also continue to address our existing and new customers individually and inspire them with our wines through innovations, expanded services and new business models. Enjoyment is and will remain an integral part of our customers' lives.’
