IRVINE, Calif., March 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cooper Housing Institute (CHI) has awarded a $150,000 grant to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) to provide critical housing-related services for families displaced by the recent Eaton and Palisades wildfires. The grant will support low- to moderate-income households in Los Angeles County as they recover, rebuild, and regain stability in the wake of the disaster.

The funding will allow Habitat LA to assist households earning 100% or below of the Area Median Income with key housing-related services, including evaluation, remediation, repair, renovation and rebuilding efforts. In addition to physical home recovery, the grant will support case management services to help families navigate the challenges of post-disaster housing, ensuring they receive the resources and assistance necessary to rebuild their lives.

"We understand that a house is more than just a structure—it's a foundation for stability, security, and resilience," said Will Cooper, Jr., President of CHI. "Through this partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, we are investing in long-term recovery efforts for fire-impacted families. By providing support for both housing restoration and case management, we want to help these households move forward with dignity and hope."

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles will work closely with affected families to assess their housing needs, facilitate repairs and provide temporary housing assistance on their road to recovery. The organization's holistic approach ensures that families not only regain shelter but also receive guidance on available housing options, financial recovery and long-term planning.
