Philanthropists and Influencers Unite to be "In the Business of Helping People"

AUSTIN, Texas, March 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The 144k Collective, a philanthropic organization comprised of entrepreneurs and community leaders dedicated to being "In the Business of Helping People," launches their mission to distribute $250 million annually to Americans from all walks of life. Capitalizing on the power in numbers, the organization aims to reach 144,000 members, each contributing a dollar a day to reach $52 million in capital contributions a year.

As a for-profit entity, the 144k Collective develops, launches and facilitates profitable business ventures, reinvesting 90% of the profits from these endeavors to fund their philanthropic work. This strategic approach to socially responsible capitalism will enable the organization to meet their $250 million annual distribution goal.

The purpose behind the 144k Collective is to create a philanthropic coalition of individuals and businesses helping Americans and consumers from all walks of life with resources and/or financial assistance, regardless of traditional definitions of "need." The organization plans to partner with community groups and influencers across the country, as well as lean on the organization's internal network of members to propose beneficiaries who could benefit from assistance.

"The idea behind the 144k Collective is for our members to act as silent watch dogs within their communities, identifying instances where immediate financial assistance can have a direct impact," said Jay Davis, Founder and Board Member of the 144k Collective. "We don't just help people with financial hardships, we help anyone that can benefit from our aid in just about any conceivable situation. We're simply 'here to help.'"

What distinguishes the 144k Collective from traditional charitable organizations is their for-profit business model and broader vision of assistance.

"When we help someone who might not be in 'need' in the traditional sense, they're often motivated to 'pay it forward,'" explains Davis. "For example, if someone was planning to pay a $2,000 down payment on a car and the 144k Collective covers it, we can inspire them to perhaps give $1,000 or more to someone else who needs a car but doesn't have enough for a down payment. This creates a virtuous circle of people helping others."

Constructed of five founding board members based in Austin, Texas, the organization continues prospecting potential new members from c-suite executives, public servants, coaches, entrepreneurs and more. The initial feasibility studies for developing this business model were conducted in Houston. The 144k Collective hopes to reach 50,000 members within the first year, with the launch of the official membership enrollment campaign taking place in July 2025.

The organization follows a for-profit business model, capitalizing on efficiency, stability and market-based revenue generation to reach the goal of contributing $250 million in philanthropic initiatives annually. The overall mission is to foster socially responsible capitalism that makes a positive change in the world by being "In the Business of Helping People," while building a legacy rooted in creating a virtuous circle of assistance.
