Legacy EV Expands EV Innovators Club Nationwide, Bringing Hands-On EV Education to Classrooms
GILBERT, Ariz., March 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- After a highly successful pilot program in Arizona, Legacy EV is launching its groundbreaking EV Innovators Club nationwide, offering middle school educators an exciting, hands-on way to bring electric vehicle (EV) technology into their classrooms.
The EV Innovators Club is a plug and play STEM program built by educators, for educators.Designed for grades 5-9, the EV Innovators Club gives students the opportunity to design, build, and race their own electric go-karts, all while engaging in STEM and career and technical education (CTE)-aligned learning. Following overwhelming demand, only 100 schools will be selected for the first national rollout starting in June 2025, with a waitlist now open for additional schools.
A Turnkey STEM Solution for Future-Ready Classrooms
Legacy EV's plug-and-play program removes the barriers that often prevent schools from implementing cutting-edge STEM initiatives. With ready-to-teach lesson plans, hands-on teacher training, and a curriculum aligned with real-world EV industry standards, the EV Innovators Club makes it easy for educators—regardless of prior engineering experience—to introduce electric vehicle technology, sustainable energy concepts, and problem-solving skills into their classrooms.
What Schools Get with the EV Innovators Club:
- A fully immersive, project-based STEM experience—students build functional EV go-karts from the ground up.
- Comprehensive teacher support—lesson plans, training, and resources designed for seamless classroom integration.
- Real-world career connections—aligns with industry standards and future job pathways in sustainable energy and EV technology.
- Collaborative, engaging learning—students develop teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership skills while solving real engineering challenges.
"The enthusiasm we saw from students and teachers in our Arizona pilot was incredible," said Mavrick Knoles, Co-Founder and President of Legacy EV. "Schools across the country have been asking for this kind of hands-on STEM program, and we're excited to make it a reality."
Built by Educators, for Educators
Legacy EV's leadership team includes former STEM teachers and Teach for America (TFA) alumni who understand the challenges of bringing new technology into the classroom. Mavrick Knoles, along with curriculum experts Tom Santilli and Baily Soto, designed the EV Innovators Club to be practical, engaging, and fully supported so that any school—urban, rural, or suburban—can integrate EV education with confidence.
"The biggest challenge in introducing new STEM programs is making sure teachers feel equipped and supported," said Tom Santilli, Curriculum Developer for Legacy EV. "That's why we've designed the EV Innovators Club to be an all-in-one solution—giving teachers the tools they need to bring hands-on EV learning to life from day one."
