Judy's Walk Across America
BURLINGAME, Calif., March 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- On April 5th, 2025, Judy Benjamin, age 80, begins a coast-to-coast walk from San Diego to St. Augustine. Thirteen years ago, her doctor confirmed what she feared: she had early Alzheimer's, and nothing could be done for her. Anticipating she would suffer as her mother and four uncles had, she was devastated and depressed. A friend introduced her to a doctor who had developed a theory about the causes of Alzheimer's and a strategy to reverse it. But it had never been tested on a human until Judy walked into Dr. Dale Bredesen's office and became his "patient zero." With no other treatments known to stop the downward spiral of the dreaded disease, Judy vowed to follow his protocol precisely. She embraced the revolutionary lifestyle changes — exercise, sleep, destressing, detoxing from mold, eating healthy real food, brain exercise, and supplementation for lacking nutrients — with a passion and determination that continues today — her symptoms disappeared over time. She began remembering her grandchildren's names, and her phone number, driving without getting lost, reading and writing again and could participate in conversations at family gatherings.
Why is an 80-year-old woman walking 3000 miles across the US?Why is an 80-year-old woman walking 3000 miles? To share her experience and give hope to others by example. Sadly, very few people know that memory loss is reversible. Judy wants to change that by letting the world know. She became a National Board-Certified Health Coach several years ago and now provides coaching for people all over the world. The walk is also a way to pay it forward and to honor her mother's life, who passed away after a 20-year battle with Alzheimer's.
Judy will be accompanied by a support van and documentary filmmakers who will record her journey. Judy not only reversed her cognitive decline but became younger in spirit and body by following the revolutionary lifestyle changes. She is centered on making a difference in the world to help others understand that they can reverse and prevent cognitive decline. Benjamin educates and inspires her clients to implement the multi-faceted, clinically proven approach with the Bredesen Protocol, which can reverse cognitive decline, optimize brain health, and improve overall health, regardless of age.
