HAYWARD, Calif., March 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Accuryn Medical, a company dedicated to addressing acute kidney injury through real-time renal monitoring and assessment based on global clinical practice guidelines, today announced that Todd Dunn, Accuryn's Chief Transformation Officer, will transition to a new role leading the company as Chief Executive Officer. Dunn succeeds Sanjay Banerjee, who is stepping down from his role as CEO.

"Todd became an Accuryn customer when he recognized the value that Accuryn could bring to his hospital, their nursing teams and the impact it could have on patient outcomes and hospital efficiency," said Chris Dewey, Chairman of the Board. "Todd's leadership background in hospital operations provides him with a unique perspective on the needs of our customers. His proven track record, extensive network and his innate ability to drive operational innovation makes him the right leader to guide Accuryn forward into its next phase of growth and impact."

"We are grateful for Sanjay's leadership, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment to advancing our mission," Dewey continued. "During his tenure, he was instrumental in refining our technology, securing real-world validation, and positioning Accuryn for long-term success. His contributions have been essential in shaping the company's trajectory, and the foundation he built will continue to serve us well as we enter into our next phase of growth."

Dunn has dedicated his career to designing and implementing business models to help organizations drive transformative change. In 2023, he was recognized as a Modern Healthcare Top Innovator for his work at Atrium Health, where he introduced a new model called Design for Impact. The framework brings together clinicians, executives and other stakeholders to ensure technology solutions remain grounded in the needs and experiences of those who deliver and receive care. Prior to his transition into the hospital setting, Dunn served as Director of Operations for GE Healthcare. He has also worked for notable organizations such as Cisco, Siemens, and McKesson and has advised a significant number of start-ups and early stage companies.

"In an acute care setting, fluid management plays a significant role in early identification of patient deterioration, which is vital to preventing the escalation of acute kidney injury, a common complication that puts patients at risk for increased morbidity, mortality, and length of stay," said Dunn. "Since being introduced to Accuryn, I've been impressed with how the technology has become a transformational part of the fluid management ecosystem, by automating urine output and providing continuous intra-abdominal pressure. I'm looking forward to working with the team to continue the company's growth and help hospitals work more efficiently and effectively to improve care for patients."
