No Peace in the Middle East Without A Post-War Leadership Pathway for Gaza

The Middle East conflict continues along its same path, with new talks on a Gaza ceasefire taking place later this week with the U.S. and Israel in Doha. Nothing is likely to come of these talks. Israel shows no signs of backing down, continuing to pound Lebanon and Gaza with little discretion.  There is a political vacuum with regard to the Palestinian leadership, with Hamas said to be courting the Russians to sway the Palestinian Authority (led by Mahmoud Abbas) to come to the table to form a unity government.
