NAZARETH, Pa., April 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- In honor of Earth Day 2025, C. F. Martin & Co.® proudly deepens its commitment to environmental responsibility with the debut of the D Biosphere III and the release of its latest Impact Report. Both efforts highlight Martin's ongoing mission to craft exceptional instruments while protecting the natural world that makes them possible.

Introducing the D Biosphere III: A Tribute to the Arctic

Each year on Earth Day, Martin releases a special Biosphere guitar that pairs impactful artwork with sustainable design—and this year's model is no exception.

The D Biosphere III features a poignant image by artist and longtime Martin collaborator Robert Goetzl. A polar bear mother and her cub rest together under a golden sky, surrounded by the fading blues of the Arctic sea ice. It's a portrait of connection—and a reminder of what's at stake.

"It's about the connection between mother and child," says Goetzl. "And the question of whether that cub will have a future."

Built entirely with FSC®-certified woods, the D Biosphere III reflects Martin's dedication to responsible sourcing. A certified Sitka spruce top, sapele back and sides, and European flamed maple binding come together for a guitar that delivers bold tone and beauty. Subtle sapele dot inlays on the ebony fingerboard add an elegant finishing touch.

To help raise awareness and support for Arctic conservation, Martin is working with Polar Bears International® and made a generous donation to support their mission to protect polar bear habitats and advance climate research.

2024 Impact Report: Progress You Can See

Sustainability isn't just a talking point at Martin—it's a measurable commitment. This Earth Day, Martin also unveiled its latest Impact Report, outlining the company's progress across environmental, community, and philanthropic initiatives in 2024.

Key highlights include:

  • 93 grants awarded through the Martin Guitar Charitable Foundation, totaling more than $500,000.
  • Over $32,000 in donated instruments supporting music education and environmental causes.
  • Ongoing reforestation efforts in Central America and Pennsylvania.
  • More than 60 tons of recycled material across Martin facilities.
  • Introduction of the first Inception™ model, crafted with sustainable and domestically abundant tonewoods.

This annual report reflects Martin's long-standing dedication to creating positive change, both within the music industry and beyond.
