BrandEd and WIRED Launch WIRED Summer Lab, an Industry-Immersive Tech Program for College Students
4-Week Program in London Helps Students Learn about Careers in Technology while Earning College Credit
LONDON, April 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- BrandEd, the leading provider of industry-immersive education, and WIRED, known for its insightful media coverage of the technologies and trends shaping our world, have launched a four-week summer program for college students 18+ who would like to engage with frontier technologies and learn how to develop creative solutions to real-world challenges. At a time when having industry experience before graduation is increasingly beneficial to students and more important than ever to discerning employers, BrandEd collaborates with leading companies to offer robust academic programs rooted in real-world industry learning during college. WIRED Summer Lab takes place from July 7 to August 1, 2025 in London. Merit scholarships are available for the inaugural cohort.
With technology advancing at breakneck speed and redefining industries, WIRED Summer Lab offers young people the opportunity to learn from those on the frontlines of innovation—journalists covering the latest trends, startup founders, AI pioneers, digital visionaries and more—while equipping students with the tools, insights, and connections to thrive in a rapidly evolving tech landscape. Greg Williams, Deputy Global Editorial Director at WIRED, three-time Technology Editor of the Year (British Society of Magazine Editors), and author of six books, will be a featured speaker on the program.
"WIRED Summer Lab is designed for students who are deeply curious about technology and its impact on society," said Williams. "It's a month-long exploration of what's next—from AI and IoT to VR/AR and ethical tech—giving participants a front-row seat to the forces shaping our future."
WIRED Summer Lab welcomes all students interested in technology and innovation to apply regardless of their academic background, and no prior technical experience is required. The program has received applications from undergraduate students studying across a range of disciplines including business, computer science, pre-medicine, and the humanities. The curriculum is structured into four thematic weeks, each focusing on different aspects of technology and innovation. Students are eligible to receive 4 U.S. university credits validated by the University of Montana.
