Homestyle Direct Opens New Fulfillment Center in Tennessee
Creating Jobs and Expanding Access to Medically Tailored Meals Nationwide
LEWISBURG, Tenn., Aug. 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Marking a major step forward in the fight against food insecurity and chronic disease, State Sen. Joey Hensley and State Rep. Todd Warner joined community leaders yesterday for the ribbon-cutting of Homestyle Direct's new meal fulfillment center in Marshall County. The remodeled 40,000-square-foot facility in Lewisburg represents a win for both local jobs and nationwide access to nutritious, medically tailored meals.
Homestyle Direct provides high-quality, medically appropriate meals to vulnerable populations, delivering more than 9 million meals annually, primarily to Medicaid and Medicare Advantage members. The new facility, which was built under stringent USDA guidelines, is designed to help double production. The facility is already operational and is currently shipping more than 20,000 meals a day.
"This is so much more than a building – for us, it's a promise to bring quality, choice, and accessibility in nutrition to people who need it most," said Jeff Barteau, Chief Executive Officer of Homestyle Direct. "This new location allows us to continue to grow and deliver healthy meal options directly to the homes of people in need. Further, we're able to serve both rural and urban communities, which is critically important to fulfill our mission."
Since 1997, Homestyle Direct has delivered dietitian-designed meals that meet healthy nutritional standards. These meals are often the only reliable, consistent food source for individuals living in food deserts, and they are proof that medically tailored meals can be both nutritious and delicious.
Homestyle Direct partners with health plans, state agencies, community organizations, and hospitals to improve patient care and reduce healthcare costs, especially for those facing food insecurity. That includes Americans who do not know where or how they will obtain their next meal, as well as people with chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, and renal conditions, or special dietary needs like gluten restriction.
"Healthy food should reach every person, urban or rural, who needs it," Sen. Hensley said after a VIP tour of the new facility. "On behalf of Tennessee, we're proud to support Homestyle Direct as they expand to provide more accessible nutrition for all."
Tennessee's strategic location allows Homestyle Direct to reach the Southeast and Midwest within 1–2 days via nearby FedEx hubs, ensuring meals arrive frozen for a positive member experience. The expansion brings 40 full-time jobs to Lewisburg and strengthens the company's presence across Middle Tennessee, with additional offices in Cool Springs.
"The leaders and staff at Homestyle Direct understand that nutritious food is essential for overall health, and they've made it their mission to help communities across America by delivering healthy meal options that promote disease management and food security, while also providing variety and individual choice," Rep. Warner said. "This expansion allows them to make an even stronger impact across Tennessee and the country, while bringing new economic growth to our Marshall County communities, and it's exciting to see that in action."
