CHICAGO, Feb. 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Katten announced that Ben Griffith, top attorney at GI Alliance, has returned to the firm as a partner in its Chicago Health Care practice.

Ben Griffith has returned to Katten as a partner in its Chicago Health Care practice.

"Ben is an outstanding attorney who offers best-in-class counsel to clients across the health care services industry on their most complex transactional and health care regulatory matters." Kenya S. Woodruff, partner and national chair of Katten's Health Care practice

"Ben is an outstanding attorney who offers best-in-class counsel to clients across the health care services industry on their most complex transactional and health care regulatory matters. We are excited to welcome him back," said Kenya S. Woodruff, partner and national chair of Katten's Health Care practice.

Griffith has a national practice advising private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, with a particular focus on representing physician practice management (PPM) platforms, as well as hospitals and health systems, on mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, joint ventures and physician alignment strategies. He is able to draw on his transactional and regulatory experience gained as in-house counsel for a nonprofit health system and for a PPM platform advising on their most complex strategic and operational issues.

Griffith first joined Katten in 2018 and was promoted to partner in 2021. He rejoins the firm from GI Alliance (GIA), the largest physician-led national management services organization supporting independent gastroenterology practices, where he served as chief legal officer since 2022. During his tenure at GIA, Griffith oversaw all health care transactional and regulatory matters for the company, including GIA's partnership with Cardinal Health — a transaction that valued GIA at $3.9 billion.

"Ben is a proven leader at Katten and with our client, GI Alliance. His experience will be invaluable to our private equity clients seeking to capitalize on investment opportunities in the health care sector," said Kimberly T. Smith, partner and global chair of Katten's Corporate department. "His return will strengthen our already impressive Health Care team."

Katten is a full-service law firm with approximately 700 attorneys in locations across the United States and in London and Shanghai.
