That last time that happened was on Dec. 12, 2011 when IBM was worth $216 billion and Microsoft had a market cap of $215 billion.But today, IBM is only worth $214 billion, while Microsoft has grown into the world's third-most valuable company with a market cap of $3.18 trillion.
